Rahr & Sons Ugly Pug – Beer of the Week

Rahr & Sons Ugly Pug

Rahr & Sons Ugly Pug is RBar’s Beer of the Week!

Dark in color, light in body – notes of caramel, chocolate, and roasted malt – smooth and session-able; it’s Rahr & Sons Ugly Pug and it’s our beer of the week, on tap, this week at R!

“…Caramel and significant chocolate, though not very sweet, more like nibs. A moderate amount of pleasant roasted notes. A barely noticeable hint of vanilla rounds things out.”

Rahr & Sons Ugly Pug Pint

“Pours out a semi-opaque, jet-black color with a small, tan head of foam. It smelled roasty with hints of chocolate. Nice roasty flavor with sweet chocolate and toffee.”

“Flavor is mild and smooth with roasted malt and hints of chocolate, isn’t overpowered by the roasted malt like most dark (almost black) beers are. The body is on the light, but not watery, and is oddly refreshing. Overall an amazing beer.”
